The Esmond Family is an English house, holders of the title of Viscount of Castlewood.

The History of Henry Esmond, Esq., A Colonel in the Service of Her Majesty Queen Anne by William Makepeace Thackery describes the adventures of the son of the third Viscount, later fostered by the Jacobite fourth Viscount on his father's death. After fighting unsuccessfully for the [Old Pretender], Henry accepts the Protestant succession, and later emigrates to the colonies. Thackery's sequel The Virginians describes the life of his grandsons.

In Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life, Philip José Farmer notes that Lord Tiverton married Lorna Esmond, a descendent of the 1st Viscount Castlewood; their son was Matthew de Pierson.
