Jane Austen
(1775-1817) was an English Regency author whose novels are considered classics. One of these, Pride and Prejudice, chronicles the courtship of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy, and is one of the key texts behind Philip José Farmer's Wold Newton Family geneologies. Interesting, Austen herself was not beyond playing this kind of game, and would tell her family and friends the fates of her characters beyond the published novels.
