Jill Fagin is mentioned in Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life by Philip José Farmer as being the great-granddaughter of Fagin, the criminal organising child pickpockets who features in Charles Dickens's novel Oliver Twist. According to Farmer, Jill was the mother of [[William Blake II), the supposed brother of Sexton Blake. On this point, Wold Newton scholar Dennis Power has indicated that Jill was married to Sexton Blake's father (according to the orthodox histories), Dr. Berkeley Blake, and is therefore probably the detective's mother as well.
