Jules Chauvelin is mentioned by Philip José Farmer in Tarzan Alive and Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life. He appears to have been a Frenchman who settled in Canada.

Jules was the son of Armand Chauvelin, and married his cousin. In Farmer's first book, she is identified as Norma Chauvelin; in the second book, she is named Jeanne Chauvelin.

Jules and his wife were the parents of Marie Chauvelin, and are thus ancestors of Doc Savage.
