Matthew de Pierson was the son of the attainted Lord Tiverton and his wife, the former Lorna Esmond. Matthew married Mercy Blood, and had a daughter, Matthiette de Pierson.
The family are discussed by Philip José Farmer in Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life, as Doc Savage himself is one of the descendants of the de Piersons.
