Micah Clarke
was the son of the more famous Micah Clarke, the central character of a novel by Arthur Conan Doyle. Mrs. Clarke's maiden name was Sarah Frobisher. Allan Quatermain was one of the descendants of the Clarkes, through the younger Micah.

The Clarke family, and their ancestry of the Great White Hunter known throughout southern Africa as Macumazahn, are described by Philip José Farmer in Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life.
