Rhoda Delagardie is a member of Philip José Farmer's Wold Newton Family; her parents were Francis Delagardie and Lucasta Rutherford.

In Tarzan Alive, Farmer identifies Rhoda as the wife of Lord John Roxton, and that together they were the parents of the Pulp vigilante Richard Wentworth, aka the Spider. Farmer argued that Wentworth had a split personality, and that he was also simultaneously another Pulp vigilante, Kent Allard, aka the Shadow - who of course spent most of his time pretending to be Lamont Cranston - and that during World War One he had earlier been G-8.

In Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life, Farmer retracted these theories. Further research revealed that Rhoda had been married twice. Richard Wentworth was indeed her son by Lord John Roxton, but she was divorced from the Great White Hunter and married Ralph Rassendyll instead, by whom she had three further children:
